	THE TRAILS
	Which to take? The high or low trail At the moment, Tiger Leaping Gorge is a real highlight hiking trail in China with top weather and both safe treks and beautiful scenery! Trekking the Tiger Leaping Gorge on the high trail, it's best that you take the car along the road from Lijiang or Zhongdian all the way to Walnut Garden, have a day trip around the Middle Gorge and then hiking back towards Qiaotou. From Sean's Guesthouse, the hike on the high trail to Qiaotou is much easier to follow and you don't have to worry about the steep uphill ascent. Within 3-4 hours, you will see the beautiful parts of the Gorge, the highest mountain peak, narrowest gorge, all the natural waterfalls etc. You do not have to carry your big bagpack with no other interferences. You will easily reach Qiaotou in 6-7 hours. However, from Qiaotou, the hike up is much harder. The 24 Bends is one of the hardest part of the high trail - note, however, that "24 Bends" is a name but in reality, it is more than THREE times the number of bends! So please take your time in walking this trek and take many mini-breaks in between. From Lijiang we have a 7-seater car that leaves between 8am-9am, so when you are in Lijiang, you just need to give us call: 0887-820 2222 and we can arrange a pick-up service to take you directly to Sean's Spring Guest house. By The moment cost from Lijiang to Qiaotou is 25RMB per/pax, so if you have 7 people's group is 175RMB per/bread van, if less 7 people you have to pay contract price 160RMB per/van. from Qiaotou to Sean's 80RMB per/car. do the cheaper way, to beat the 50 RMB payment to the devils building the dam you better enter gorge in the evening, other way's you have to stay over one night in Qiaotou ,( This service Only work for who really want to visit and support Sean's Guesthouse with honest happy travelers), cheating people don't interrupt our time. Trekking  pass the high waterfall trail, you may need a local guide to show you all the way down to Sean's place or ether other way up to the bamboo forest. Doing this on your own may be dangerous! During the raining season, the best way would be to contact Sean directly to organise your Tiger Leaping Gorge trip. Sean is an expert in the area and is a valuable guide throughout your trip. At a moderate pace, including rests, hiking the high trail should take 6-8 hours from Qiaotou to Walnut Garden, you can copy the Trekking map. About 2 hours slowly walk from Qiaotou there is a local farmhouse called Naxi Family Guesthouse. About four hours from Qiaotou there is Tea horse Guest house, Generally Tea horseis more like halfway you  trekking in the gorge. six or eight hours to to Walnut Garden. Between Halfway and Walnut Garden there are many beautiful waterfalls with clean drinkable water. The high trail joins the lower road 2 kilometers from  Walnut Garden the Gorge's main waterfall in a large ravine (DaShengGou) with big bridge crosses, from here is  half hour walk to Walnut Garden, Originally Walnut Garden guest house (Sean's spring guest house). since by 1983.The road was about ten years ago a simple mule track. Now it has been widened into a tar road crossed by several waterfalls. Its all the way about 195 kilometers from Qiaotou through the Tiger Leaping Gorge; white water terrace up to Zhong Dian, have recently been tarred. The road follows the Yangtze below it so there are more views of the river, and a stronger sense of being in a gorge than on the upper trail. It is also a shorter, less strenuous hike or bike ride. (23.2 kms to Walnut Garden) Allow 5-6 hours from Qiaotou to Walnut Garden, if walking. two hours if cycling. At the 10th kilometer, just before a tunnel in the road, there are some step right down to water level where you can feel the full force of the Yangtze's power.  For those short on time or energy there are even taxis from Qiaotou into the gorge . as far as Walnut Garden. Price strictly negotiable depending on the number of passengers and your bargaining skills but expect to pay about 20yuan a person plus the gorge entrance fee of 50 yuan. From Walnut Garden, Sean's Guesthouse. you can walk down to the River, which is you can see and touch the powerful Gorge with out pay for the trail. If you really want to See the middle Narrow path Gorge, each person have to pay about 35rmb to get through there. I don't think you really need !! Also that way is wrong business, would be make local people more lazy and make yourself Uncomfortable!! Gorge higher trail start Our place is also a great activity spot. From here, you can stay for one week or more and go climb the Haba Mountain. There is an option of staying two nights on the mountain too! You could do a one-day trip to the big waterfall or the Middle Gorge. For rock-climbing enthusiasts, you can rock-climb behind Sean's!
